After Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half of the population around the world in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, fans were starstruck and left wanting more. Many of Marvel’s die hard fans were trying to put pieces together with what Marvel was going to do next after they ended the movie on a cliffhanger. The Internet abounded with speculations about how superheroes would reverse Thanos’s heinous crimes and bring back half their friends, who still have television shows and movies in the works. Longtime stars like Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, and Chris Evans, who portrays Captain America, were ready for their final contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), leaving everyone to wonder how their characters would finish their stories.

The official trailer for Avengers: Endgame was dropped during the 2019 Super Bowl on February 3 and now has up to 117 million views. Avengers:Endgame premiered on April 26, 2019, and has made more money in one single weekend than Captain America: Civil War did in total. The movie made $350 million in the opening weekend. In New York, the movie made $156.7 million at the domestic box office on its opening day, the most money that a movie has made during an opening weekend. Internationally, Avengers: Endgame made close to $859 million, making it the most marketed film ever. Theaters also came out with a 40 hours 48 minutes long marathon for fans to watch all the Marvel movies in order they were released.

“Hands down the best Marvel movie ever made. I’ve watched every Marvel movie and this one was amazing,” said senior Kyle Iwinski.

Fan favorite heroes such as Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Captain Marvel, and others star in Marvels: Endgame. At the end of Infinity War, many heroes vanished such as Black Panther, Spiderman, Dr. Strange, etc. Fans had to wait to see Avengers: Endgame to figure out what Thanos did with the characters that disappeared and how the remaining characters reacted. Many of the characters lost their family members and wanted to get them back from whatever Thanos did to them. They all agreed to give it their all to get their family and friends back, no matter what it takes. Avengers: Endgame received a delighted response both critically and commercially and is hailed as a future classic.

“One of the best movies I’ve ever watched in my life. I could watch the movie over and over again because it was so good,” said senior David O’Brien.
