New Movies to Delve Into This Spring
March 31, 2021
The films debuting this month offer a wide range of stories for audiences to delve into. Readers should consider these three exciting films when looking for new content to enjoy.
Raya and the Last Dragon
The newest Disney animation flick debuted on March fifth as a theatrical release and as a part of the Disney+ Premier Access. Subscribers to the Disney+ platform will have to pay an additional thirty dollars to watch the film. The film has drawn inspiration from Southeastern Asian cultures. An ancient civilization inhabits a reimagined world called Kumandra where our main character Raya resides. Raya is a warrior who is seeking to find the last dragon, and through the explanation of mythology audiences, learns dragons are an integral aspect of this world, though it is apparent that dragons are no longer around, hence Raya finding the last dragon. The dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity when an evil force previously threatened Kumandra. The groups of people from the civilization have now spread across Kumandra and are at war with one another. The evil force returns once again, still posing the same threat over the land Raya is determined to find the last dragon before it is too late to restore her world. Kelly Marie Tran (Raya) and Awkwafina (Sisu) star opposite together in this original animation.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
The long anticipated Snyder Cut debuted on Thursday, March 18 with an exclusive release on HBO Max. Snyder’s version consists of four hours full of storytelling and has been received widely much better than the 2017 Justice League. Zack Snyder was initially the director of 2017’s Justice League until he was replaced by Joss Whedon who changed more of Snyder’s original story than was believed by fans. There had been immense cry of support by the fans and actors to finish the story Snyder had originally planned. Now fans are finally able to view Snyder’s film in full glory at home. The basic storyline from 2017 Justice League is there, though the film has an apparent cohesiveness as well as more overall developed characters, especially for Cyborg. Batman aligns himself with Diana Prince as a plan to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from impending doom. They may underestimate the forces of Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid as their dreadful intentions become more likely to succeed. Any reader can watch vision Snyder was able to bring to life with a subscription to HBO Max.
Godzilla vs. Kong
Two of the most revered monsters to walk the Earth will come face to face in an epic battle on Wednesday, March 31. A theatrical release as well as a same day release on HBO Max will be available to interested audiences. There has been a long debate over which monster will survive once the dust has settled. Each group has their specific
points to be made and they do not back down when their monster is in question. It seems that the characters in the film will take their own sides for which monster they will champion to win. The trailers have given audiences a glimpse at the action and destruction the monsters partake in and there will be plenty of destroyed buildings as they battle it out. The visual aspect has further grown the excitement for the audience as the visuals look spectacular. With two prominent characters being completely CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery), it is breathtakingly beautiful at how Godzilla and Kong look realistic. At the end of the day, the fight sequences between the two of the most powerful forces alone has the audience counting down the days until the film is released. Interested viewers won’t have to wait much longer as the release date approaches.
Audiences have plenty to watch in the month of March with films besides the ones mentioned already being released. There is nothing quite like spending your nights watching some good flicks before you say goodnight.
