On Saturday, October 9th, both the Griffith boys and girls teams went to Highland for their sectionals meet to attempt Griffiths second year in a row at attending regionals. The start of sectionals was mostly normal with getting everything off the bus, stretching, and lastly the analysis of the course. This years sectionals had the boys running first at 10 am and the girls running second at 10:45 am. At 10 am the boys started and Sophomore, Joesph Lapatra, placed 4th over all with a time of 17:05. The boys ran their hearts out and scored 113 points for Griffith putting them in 4th place. This meant that the boys team would be attending regionals this year and be running on Saturday the 16th at Lemon Lake. Sophomore, Joesph LaPatraleft a comment saying “Regionals is going to be even better of a race for me and I’m going to do my best.”

After the boys had finished their race it was the girls turn at 10:45 and for the second year in a row both teams from Griffith would be attending Regionals. The girls put their all into the race and scored a total of 132 points placing them in 4th. Junior, Maya Perez, said “I’m super proud of everyone for working so hard this season and making it to regionals is giant accomplishment to us.” Both teams did great and will be running on Saturday the 16th at Lemon Lake so go show your support there if you can.
