Long Live the Queen

Queen Elizabeth ll, Britain’s longest reigning monarch, passed away on September 8, 2022, in the afternoon at the age 96. The queen had several mobility and health issues leading up to her death. Her grandson, Prince Charles lll will take over the throne. Britain has gathered to mourn their Queen. Her coffin has been moved to the ballroom at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, with flowers being changed daily. Outside of Buckingham Palace, Britain’s monarch administration headquarters has been filled with flowers and people paying their respects. Flags are being flown at half-staff as world leaders gather to pay respects. A 10-day funeral plan for the queen has been made. It will consist of Prince Charles making a speech. On day 10, Saturday, September 17, 2022, the hour-long funeral service will begin followed by a 2-minute moment of silence. The queen will then be carried one and a half miles to her final resting place at Windsor Palace.
