Behind the Scenes: Prom 2023

Prom 2023 is occurring on April 28th at the Hall of St George in Schererville. The doors open at 6 PM and the dance lasts from 7- 11 pm. Students must enter the dance before 7:30, or they will not be permitted entry. Ticket sales end on April 5th, and can be purchased online through the panther box office. Each ticket is $55.  Alongside ticket sales, signed permission slips must be given to the guidance office before April 5th in order to attend. If bringing an out of school guests, students must arrive with their guest.

Junior Class Council was responsible for planning prom. This year the theme is “Over the Moon” and its coordinating colors are blue, purple, and sliver. These colors will be featured in the balloons, napkins, centerpieces, and other decorations. Junior Class Council also chose a plated dinner for the dance.

Junior Class Council began prom planning in October. The group brainstormed the overall vision of the dance and began thinking of fundraising opportunities. In December, Class Council sold candy cane grams for a dollar each. For this fundraiser students could send each other candy canes with a kind note to spread holiday cheer. Another fundraiser was the middle school carnival dance. Junior Class Council shared the fundraiser with National Junior Honors Society. Both contribute to funding prom. Junior Brianna Lopez shares her insight as a member of Junior Class Council, she says, “I really enjoyed the planning process and am excited to see our ideas come to life.”
