Unified track has been a sport at GHS for 6 years now and has been around since 2017. The unified track team has gone to state twice in the last 6 years. Last year, the track team advanced to regionals at Kokomo and then went to state in Bloomington for the second time ever. This year the unified track team has a very small team consisting of 10 people. Coach Melissa Diekelmann has been the coach of unified track since it first started and says, “Our team has been small but mighty this year. We may not have the numbers that other schools do, but we have the talent that has done great things this season. I am very much looking forward to what these athletes will do in the post-season!” Good luck to the unified track team as they prepare for sectionals Saturday May 20th! Definitely come out and support. The meet is at Valparaiso High school starting at 9am.
