Mr. Kessler is a new PE teacher and Offensive Linemen coach at Griffith Junior/Senior High School. To start, Kessler came to Griffith because he wanted to be football coach and was given an opportunity to teach and coach. When he heard about it, he pounced on the opportunity and took the job. Before teaching, Kessler attended Concordia Saint Paul University and played college football for 3 years, starting at center and guard. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Physical Education and Health as well. His reason for becoming a teacher, he said, “I wanted to have an opportunity to coach, and at the same time, I wanted to do something I enjoyed in high school, which is PE.” During his free time, Kessler participates in competitive powerlifting. When he’s not powerlifting, he doesn’t spend much time by himself, so he’ll spend his time with the football athletes. He is trying to get the strength program built up at the G. Kessler has a love for the game of football, so he spends his time with the team to help the younger generation of players better understand the game. If you ever want to pop in and say hello, go down to the field house, and you’ll probably see him!
