Mr. Ferrino hosted Spanish Game Night on April 5 in the High School LGI to bring people together. The event took place late after school and food was provided by guests. Mr. Ferrino has plans to grow a community of people through activities and he believes in bringing people together for a common goal.
During the previous Spanish Game Night, on February 16, Mr. Ferrino made all the food and served it buffet style. Throughout the night, guests played Jeopardy and Bingo, with all the words in Spanish, but provided images to help participants learn. Mr. Ferrino spoke in Spanish the entire time, gesturing so people knew what he was saying.
Future events are planned to go beyond the Griffith community. Mr. Ferrino hopes to visit Colombia in South America and show them what he’s offering at Griffith HS. “I have dreams of taking what I’ve learned in the United States and teaching other teachers how to implement this into their teaching,” Mr. Ferrino said.
