It was Friday the 13th, a date often associated with bad luck — but for Griffith, it was a night of celebration and honor! The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students, parents, and alumni gathered to honor the achievements for the class of 1969. The stands were filled with fans, all eager to see the events of this evening unfold.
As our Panthers faced off against the Oilers in the showdown, the game quickly turned in favor of Griffith. Not even 5 minutes into the game, they quickly scored touchdown after touchdown, putting them in a promising lead, ending the first quarter 14-0 and the second 42-0.
As halftime took place, a special surprise was unveiled by our elementary kids, gifted by the class of 1969: A brand-new bus for our school. The crowd erupted in cheers and awe as the sleek vehicle was presented, symbolizing the growth and progress of our community from our humble beginnings to our future generations. This new addition would not only serve as transportation for our teams, but also as a reminder of the support and dedication of
everyone involved. In honor of our future panthers, Mr. Chance and other adults led the elementary students on a charge down the field. It was a proud moment that unified the whole community.
Throughout the evening, various activities kept everyone entertained. The Pantherettes and The Marching Panthers displayed their talents with stunning performances, captivating the audience with their routines. Tables lined the fence, offering a variety of merchandise and treats, allowing students and parents to indulge in school spirit while supporting our causes. The varsity cheerleaders, alongside the unified cheerleaders and middle school cheerleaders, brought lively energy to the night.
Finally, the Panthers shut out the game, bringing in a 55-0 victory and taking their record this season up to 4-0. Booming fireworks sent out the night with a bang, and it was certainly a night to remember.
