As we gear up for the Griffith boys’ basketball 2024-2025 season, anticipation is in the air!
The basketball season is under a month away for the Griffith Panthers, and they will host the familiar Hobart Brickies this year on November 30th.
Last year’s basketball season was very successful for the Panthers, finishing 16-9 in the season and 6-1 in their conference. The Panthers recorded their first winning season since 2019, coming to an end when the panthers fell short in the second round of sectionals, losing a hard-fought game to conference champ Bishop Noll 54-34.
What’s next for the Panthers? This offseason, players have been putting in countless hours of work preparing for this upcoming season. “We got a taste of what a winning season felt like last year. All the players have bought into what coach has been doing this offseason, and we’re very ready for this upcoming season,” said senior Gianni Feaster.
Obviously, the main goal for the Panthers is to win their conference, last year falling short in 2nd place. Further in, when asked on a deeper insight about the goal for this year, senior team captain Colton Strezo said, “It’s up to our senior class to elevate the underclassmen and come forward as a team to win a sectional championship this year.”
The Panthers are looking to make a statement this season and improve from last year’s record. Come out and support them on November 30th against Hobart!
