Griffith High School’s Project 7 (P7) Club held their latest meeting in Mr. Maloney’s room on Tuesday, November 19th. The P7 Club is a bible study club where the members engage in meaningful discussion and partake in activities to get to know each other better.
The club is run by Mr. Jason Maloney, the American Sign Language teacher, who has also taught Sunday School for thirty years. Blake Haney, a junior, is the president of the P7 Club.
The meetings are held every Tuesday afterschool from 2:30 – 3:10. The meetings are not mandatory, so members are able to attend at their convenience. The club allows everyone to join a community and allows them to meet new friends along the way. At the beginning of each meeting, they all greet each other while snacking on food. This year, Haney plans to start implementing icebreakers before the lesson in order for the members to learn more about each other.
The P7 Club is open to any religion or anyone who does not have a religion. Maloney and Haney strongly believe that the Bible is versatile to everyone who wants to learn more about what it is. The members of the club have the option to either believe certain beliefs in the Bible and the choice to not believe in certain beliefs in the Bible.
Haney said, “It’s for everyone because the Word of God isn’t supposed to be hid from people but rather taught to anyone who wants to hear it.”
The next P7 club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th.
