GRIFFITH, Ind. — The Griffith High School International Club is preparing for its annual spring break trip, with next year’s destination set for Portugal and Spain.
The weeklong trip is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, through Saturday, April 4, 2026. Students will return before classes resume, ensuring they do not miss school.
Trip advisors Mrs. Wencloff and Ms. Berzy, both Griffith High School teachers, oversee the planning and logistics. The club dedicates significant time to fundraising and organizing the trip, which they say is a rewarding but demanding process.
“We are super excited for this trip, and we think it will be one of the best yet,” Berzy said. “However, the hard work and effort that goes into it really is stressful.”
Students who attend will be provided with all necessary supplies for the trip. Club leaders emphasize the educational value of international travel, including exposure to new cultures, increased adaptability and a broader global perspective. The experience also introduces students to historic landmarks and encourages a lifelong interest in world travel and cultural learning.
