GRIFFITH, Ind. — The Griffith Middle School track team competed against Wheeler Middle School on Wednesday, April 23, at 5 p.m. at Griffith High School.
Despite strong individual performances, the Griffith girls team fell short, losing 65–37. Grace Dumezich set a personal record in the hurdles, and Amber Bullion also achieved a personal best in shot put.
“We lost, but that means we just need to try harder and do our best to improve,” said 4×400-meter relay runner Hope Lyons. “There’s always room for improvement.”
Lyons also credited the team’s coaches for their support and motivation.
“The coaches always support us and push us to be the best we can be,” she said.
The team currently practices three times a week, but plans to increase to four practices to better prepare for upcoming meets.
With continued dedication and hard work, coaches and athletes hope the added effort will lead to more wins in the future.
