Vice Principal Kinnie rewarded 120 honor roll students with a trip to the RailCats baseball game on May 15, where the team defeated the Cleburne Railroaders 4–3.
Many students went along with Ms. Kinnie including the high school, middle school, and some elementary students from Elementary school. The day was nice and warm and very hot. “I’m very proud that I got the opportunity to go to the game and hang out with my friends,” said sophomore Koraima Patino. “It was nice to get rewarded for all my hard work.”
“I decided to take students because at my last district where I worked, we would take the whole school day trip to the RailCats,” said Kinnie. “When I got the email forwarded here, I figured we would start with the honor roll students’, which would be a great way to reward them for working hard.” Ms. Kinnie has said this will be a every year thing.
“My favorite part of the game was hanging out with my friends,” said sophomore Adam Cano. “Getting this opportunity was great, I’m going to push for the same thing next year.”
Ms. Kinnie hopes this opportunity motivates other students to do well so they can also come along.
