On Friday Night Griffith hosted the 2021-2022 Girls Basketball sectionals. Starting off the night the Hanover Wildcats took on River Forest Ingots. That game ended at 34-28 resulting in River Forest advancing to Game 2. The second game of the night was a matchup between the Calumet Warriors and the Griffith Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers had a great lead throughout the whole game and the game finished 52-10. With that win Griffith progressed to Game 2 where they would play River Forest.

Game 2 took place Saturday night the Lady Panthers and River Forest Ingots faced off for the title of Sectional 17 Class 3A Champions. It was a very intense game with both teams fighting hard for the title. The final score was 47-28 in favor of the Lady Panthers. This win makes Griffith back to back Sectional 17 champs and they look to play the West Noble Chargers, who upset Tippecanoe Valley in Sectional 20. The site for this regional matchup is Jimtown, Indiana and the winner will face off against the winner of Culver Academy Vs #2 in Class 3A South Bend Washington.
