Connor Cervantes Represents Griffith at Wrestling State

This past weekend Connor Cervantes participated in State for wrestling.

His first match was against Evan Tilton from Hamilton Heights High School. He just got the pin before the end of the match, which was at 5 minutes and 50 seconds.

His next match was against Laish Detwiler from Goshen High School. Cervantes won the match 7-0.

The following match was the toughest Cervantes would face. His opponent was De’Alcapon Veazy from Fort Wayne Snider High School. Cervantes was pinned in the first period in a matter of 1 minute and 35 seconds.

His last match for 3rd place was a competitive one between Cervantes and Luke Penola from Zionsville High School. Cervantes put up a good fight, but couldn’t quite pull the win and lost 9-5.

Cervantes finished 4th out of the 16 competitors and finished off a great high school career with a 43-3 record his senior year.
