At Griffith High School, the staff have a new addition to the baseball program. Alumni Varsity Coach Elias Caraballo makes his return to GHS after 8 years since his graduation in 2016.

On the first day returning to the GHS baseball fields, he met the high school team that he will be coaching. When asked how the players were treating him and how he was mashing with the team he said, “I think the players are gaining more trust in me every day. It takes time for young men to trust someone they don’t know but we are building a bind that can last a lifetime.”

From a young age Coach Caraballo always had a dream of coaching baseball. Mr. Caraballo participated in baseball at GHS during all four years of his high school career. He said, “It was like a full circle moment for him when he got the job.” The Coach and athlete bond will grow stronger as the season progresses. Looking outside of GHS Coach Caraballo says, “I like the diversity and the community surrounding GHS.”
