On September 13th, the second to last Friday Market of the year took place in Central Park, Griffith. The market, which had started on May 17th and ends on September 20th, 2024, runs every Friday from 4:30pm up until 10:30pm. The event features live bands, a variety of crafts that are for sale, and a variety of food options. The band lineup for September 13th had included the Morning Glories, which performed at 6:00 pm and LP Vinyl and LP Vinyl’s Escape Journey Tribute performed at 8:30pm.
Isabella Carls, one of the people who had attended the event, mentioned that the event had a face painting truck and an ice cream truck. She particularly enjoyed the ice cream, in which she had gotten a waffle cone with cotton candy ice cream. The face painting truck, ice cream truck, and playground were perfect activities to keep kids occupied while their parents talked to their friends. The “Crown Creamery” ice cream truck offered flavors such as cotton candy, watermelon sorbet, chocolate chip ice cream, and many more flavors.
Another guest who had attended the event, GHS alumni Ariadna Estrada, had expressed her enjoyment of spending time with friends and exploring the range of options at the market. “I enjoyed hanging out with my friends and walking around looking at the different things they have to offer.” She had also recalled the first Friday Market she had performed for the Griffith High School band, and she had walked around the event for a while after they were done performing. She remembered that they had Kona Ice, boba, popcorn, cotton candy, chicken tenders, shish kabobs, and many more to offer.
