GRIFFITH, IN – President Trump released the FBI’s UFO files to the public on February 19, 2026, because many people believe that the government is hiding aliens from the public even though is no circumstantial evidence proving their existence.
The UFO files that were released state information about unidentified flying objects and unidentified aerial phenomena from the 1940s to late 1980s. Many of these files consist of strange or irregular aerial phenomena that was documented by the Air Force. Scientists believe that the information that was released will not satisfy the public because the files don’t actually contain information about aliens that people want to see.
In an interview that CBS News conducted, scientists say that they are still excited over these files being released though because they believe that they can find small microbes of other life forms rather than the aliens that the public thinks is out there. Though many will still believe that there are aliens somewhere in the universe, these files and documents will leave conspiracy theorists unsatisfied and pushing for more because they believe the government is still hiding something from the people.
Jeffery Swisher, history teacher at Griffith High School, gave his perspective on how these files being released would impact the public. “It doesn’t matter what we say, people have it set in their minds that aliens are real, and it doesn’t matter what evidence is given to them,” he said.
Trump pushed for these files to be released after former President Obama said that he believed in aliens and extraterrestrial life, even though he had never seen any evidence for himself while serving his terms at the White House on Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast “No Lie.” Trump is not sure whether aliens really exist, but gave the impression that former President Obama may have been referring to the “classified information” in the UFO files. There’s no hard evidence of the little green men they believe are out there, but perhaps there are small microbes that can be considered living organisms out in space.
Freshman Jaidyn Willis gave his opinion on whether he believed in aliens or not. “I absolutely believe in aliens because there’s no way it would only be us in the universe,” he said.
