On October 18, 2021, the Girls Varsity basketball team fell to the Valparaiso Vikings at home. The score was 69-29. Cierra Pipkins ended up with 7 points and 5/7 FT shooting. Elle Rasberry scored 4 points. Marisa Esquivel scored 17 points and shot 7/11 at the free throw line. Xya Anderson scored one free throw. Half time score was 43-22. The girls tried their hardest yet couldn’t keep up with Valparaiso. The girls were held down to one point in the third quarter. Valparaiso’s amazing defense was able to keep the Griffith girls under control. Valparaiso was able to come in and assert their dominance. Everyone on the team was able to contribute to their 40 point blow out. The Griffith Girls Varsity basketball team will learn from this game and come back stronger.
